Santa came to the Grove

Santa Claus showed up at The Grove's Christmas party this year.  Children and pets alike enjoyed having their picture made with Santa.   Everyone was treated to an awesome chocolate fondue fountain bar that was catered by Ribbons of Chocolate.  I love truly love this time of year!

Vanderbilt's Diabetes Family Day

This was my third year photographing this wonderful event.   Vanderbilt's TrailNet research team lead discussions on type 1 diabetes and it's prevention.  Screening for type 1 diabetes was also held along with many fun and educational activities for the kids.

Student Life Camp

I just returned from our church's youth camp in Cleveland, TN.  There's no better way to feel young again than to hang out with a bunch of teenagers.  However, it did take me a whole day to catch up on my missed sleep.

 

This is our youth minister, Mike, and his wife, Sharon.  She had absolutely no idea that she was about to get drenched.

Mike was honored by being "Youth Minister of the Day" on July 4th.  The youth came up with this creative toilet seat that read "Mike, we know that you like to do everything with us, but this one, you're on your own."  They also included a very heart-felt note about him.

Tri-County Homeschool Recognition Ceremony 2010

This was Tri-County Home Educators' 2nd Annual Recognition Ceremony. It was held at First Baptist Church in Joelton and emceed by FBCJ's youth minister, Mike Cunningham. After the ceremony, a large group headed over to play laser tag on 2nd Avenue in downtown Nashville.

GNAA's Apartment Tour - Sumner County

What better way to tour Sumner County at it's finest. Members of the Greater Nashville Apartment Assoc. was escorted by Nashville's Party Bus as they toured several apartment communities in Sumner county.

We ate lunch at the always delicious Latham's Lighthouse on Old Hickory lake.

Hendersonville's mayor, Scott Foster, spoke about all Sumner County has to offer.

Dessert was served at Nottingham Apartments. Deborah Baumstark made several of her delicious homemade pies and shared them with the group.

Thanksgiving at the Rescue Mission

Several members of the community came out last Thanksgiving Eve to help serve a hot meal & share in the lives of many Nashville's homeless. I was blessed as I met many new people that day.

"Mr. Turkey" brought smiles to many faces this day.

Even the young ones came out to lend a helping hand.

The mayor and many of the news media were among the ones who helped serve.

This is the closest I'll come to being a Titan's cheerleader.

Think Pink

The Greater Nashville Apartment Association (GNAA) held it's 3rd annual "Think Pink Putt Putt" tournament at Nashville Shores on Friday, September 18th. This event raised over $10,000 for the fight against breast cancer this year. Representatives from the apartment communities along with associate members competed in this tournament. Men "sugar caddies" accompanied each all-women team, keeping scores and carrying the women's putters. The hottest "sugar caddie", best-dressed, and karaoke contests were also held. This was such a fun and wonderful event to photograph.
